Laser Safety Training at 2024 Prolight+sound
This knowledge-packed 2-day educational event will be held directly at the Frankfurt Messe trade show centre, making it convenient and easy for visitors of Prolight+sound to attend.

Day 1 - Laser Safety Training for laser light show operators (in English)
Training duration: approx. 6 hours + refreshment breaks + optional exam
The training will be led by renowned UK laser safety expert James Stewart from LVR Optical.
James carries a wealth of technical expertise and practical experience gained through more than 20 years of applying the best laser safety techniques within the entertainment sector. These skills and experience enabled James to be the natural choice as the IEC project leader throughout the development of the recently published IEC TR 60825-3:2022 international laser safety standards document relating specifically to laser display safety, which has since been adopted as the standard reference for best practice by many parts of Europe and countries beyond.
The training course covers a wide range of laser safety topics targeted specifically for the light show and entertainment industry, highlighting critical parts of the laser safety standards and regulatory documents while showing how to accommodate these on a practical level. You will learn about laser hazards, identifying risks and applying the expected precautions to reduce them, how to design safe shows and effects, and how to prepare risk assessments and work with the local authorities.

The training includes a copy of LVR Optical’s Laser Display Safety Handbook, along with a Certificate of Attendance. If you choose to do the exam and pass, you will receive an additional certificate.
Day 2 - Software, hardware and show development (in English)
Duration: approx. 6 hours + refreshment breaks

Our leading laser show programmer and expert in multimedia show production, Martin Gabco, will give you insight into the depths of complex shows where many different show components must work together.
